Telecommunications & Electronics Engineer with 10+ years of hands-on and supervisory experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and managing low-voltage infrastructure, CCTV systems (Milestone, HikCentral), MikroTik networking, access control and fire alarms. Currently in the engineering department at JW Marriott Houston.
I am an engineer who also pulls the cable. I can work alone on a service call, lead a crew on a new build, or talk through a problem with the engineer who designed the system, and I explain the result clearly to the client who will use it.
My background spans the entire system lifecycle: from blueprint analysis, conduit routing, structured cabling, and subcontractor coordination in multimillion-dollar hotel developments, to Windows Server/RAID video management infrastructure, MikroTik network programming, PRTG monitoring, and luxury hotel preventive maintenance.
Fast, methodical isolation of cabling faults, network packet drop, IP conflicts, camera sensor defects, and electronic door locks.
Experienced supervising 5-6 subcontracting firms and up to 100 on-site technicians with strict adherence to engineering standards.
Delivering turnkey security solutions with comprehensive end-user and administrative training, documentation, and handover.
A multidisciplinary toolset covering software platforms, network hardware, electronic security appliances, and physical infrastructure.
Enterprise VMS platforms, IP & analog cameras, PTZ, NVR/DVR storage, multi-site video matrix, and remote mobile access.
Network configuration, routing protocols, bandwidth management, PoE provisioning, PRTG monitoring, and server setups.
Access control doors, RFID/Biometrics, perimeter protection, intrusion alarm panels, and addressable fire detection.
Cable plant design, termination, conduit installation, rack mounting, patching, testing, and professional instrumentation.
Progressively promoted through three technical positions supporting commercial and enterprise electronic security operations:
Five resort and tourism projects in Cayo Santa María, Cuba, from blueprint review through commissioning, client training, and operational handover.
Bouygues Bâtiment International · Cayo Santa María
Luxury 5-star eco-resort, opened as Paradisus Los Cayos. Led engineering coordination for low-voltage systems: structured cabling, fiber backbone, enterprise Wi-Fi, IP telephony, CCTV surveillance matrix, and addressable fire detection.
ALMEST · Warwick Cayo Santa María (now Roc Lagunas del Mar)
All-inclusive beachfront hotel. Supervised low-voltage subcontractor teams, audited conduit and structured cabling, verified fire alarm integration, and managed system commissioning.
ALMEST · Ocean Casa del Mar (now Roc Casa del Mar)
Large-scale resort with 800+ rooms. Managed low-voltage infrastructure, telecommunications racks, IP networking, perimeter security, and access control systems through final client handover.
ALMEST · Hotel Playa Cayo Santa María
Comprehensive resort infrastructure project. Coordinated multiple subcontracting firms across electrical, security, CCTV, and voice/data networks with strict adherence to deadlines.
ALMEST · Las Terrazas del Atardecer
Tourist village and commercial plaza serving the Lagunas del Este resort zone, with shops, restaurants, an amphitheater and beach services. Supervised low-voltage subcontractors and systems for the complex.
Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas
